you might be able to find a computer off (the local equivalent of) craigslist for the same price as the screen replacement. i've found many a device on the cheap that were still good for _years_ off secondhand sites.

The problem is, although my PC is not very good, it still holds up well for basic tasks that a PC of the same price of the repair could not handle
And if I were to buy it, I don't have money right now to do it
